Title: Beyond Wake of Adversity
Author: darkstar
Email: clone347@aol.com
Summary: Logan reflects on his past and on the prospects of his future.
Category: R/L (what else?), poetry, a wee bit of angst, logan point of view
Disclaimer: There are a great many injustices in the world. One such cruelty of Fate is that I do not own these characters. The X-men belong to Bryan Singer, and Rogue and Logan belong to each other. So I'm just playing with them.
Archive: i would be honored, only please let me know :)
Author's Notes: Rule number #34 for Surviving Writer's Block : when your prose starts to suck, write poetry. Let's hope this works. ::crosses fingers::

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

on my body
there is not a place
they have not touched.
there is not a pain
i have not known.
there is not a moment
when i can breathe without
remembering the fear.

in my mind
there is not a place
that you do not fill completely.
there is not a pain
that can rival this joy.
there is not a moment
when i breathe without
thought of you.

on my body
there are wounds
but never scars.
there are drops of sweat
and drops of blood.
there is not a moment
when i open my eyes without
regretting all i have lost.

in my mind
there are kisses
and there is your smile.
there are drops of passion
and drops of peace.
there is not a moment
when i open my eyes without
loving you with all of me.

i thought angels wore wings.
i thought heaven was far away.
but heaven was your first laugh.
and you will always be my angel,
the lover of my soul.
