Welcome to the Small Fandom Big Bang Challenge website! For those new to Big Bangs, you can check out the info below before jumping into the wonderful stories and art this challenge produced.

For those unfamiliar with Big Bang challenges, this is how it works - you sign up to write a fic with a large word count (word count varies between challenge and fandom - our challenge's word count was 20,000 words) and artists sign up to create art or vids for the story they claim.

This was our first year doing a Small Fandom Big Bang. Authors and Artists signed up at the end of September on our livejournal community, SmallFandom_BB. Authors who wanted to receive art for their story needed to have a complete draft ready by March. Artists then claimed the stories that caught their interest, read the story and created art in whatever form they were inspired to - drawings, manips, fanmixes, videos etc. The second round of story claiming was done in the beginning of June. Those authors who met the second deadline were permitted to post a detailed summary/description of their story on which the artist claiming it would base their art (rather than on the story in its entirety).

The small fandoms for this challenge were: Being Human, Castle, Chronicles of Riddick, Dark Angel, The Dead Zone, Eureka, Hewligan, Primeval, Psych, and Pushing Daisies. The fandoms that had stories and art done for them were: Castle, Chronciles of Riddick, Dark Angel, Eureka and Hewligan.

Authors were permitted to either choose from one of the prompts we offered, one of the prompts offered in the comments to our prompt post or they could use their own prompt. As this was a small fandom challenge, we wanted to be as flexible as possible (with a few exceptions) to assure the most involvement in this challenge.

Initally we had 26 authors and 15 artists signed up to write and do art for this challenge. 10 authors finished for a total of 351,521 words. We have 20 pieces of art created by 11 artists.

We have several viewing options on the website. You can view the submitted stories and art by author, artist, fandom, pairing, story or art. Stories and art will overlap on the fandom and pairing pages.

This website is best viewed in Firefox.

At the bottom of each story and art page, you will find a link leading you to a livejournal post on the community created specifically to leave feedback for the authors and artists, SF_BigBang_FB. The authors and artists have put a lot of effort into their respective work, so please do feedback and show you appreciate their hard work.

Any questions or comments can be sent directly to me at forcryinoutloud@gmail.com.

Many thanks to the authors, artists, beta readers, and cheerleaders for taking part in this challenge and to the amazing Amezri for creating this gorgeous website! Thank you also to Munchkinofdoom, Birggitt, Lavvyan and Kari Hermione for being my website checkers - testing links, making sure I didn't accidentally make the font sparkly or invisible, making sure everything was where it should be etc. ;)

This challenge was based on the Harry Potter Big Bang (the original Big Bang) and the Stargate Atlantis Big Bang. Many thanks to both for inspiring more and more Big Bang challenges across fandoms!
