Fabric Swatch(es):

I've wanted to do "Evil Alice" for a long time, but I've always got a "better" costume planned for Halloween, plus a friend of mine wanted to do it as well (couldn't have two of us!) I-CON 27 and Albacon provided the perfect excuse for this! I actually whipped up this costume in about a week and a half, just before I-CON. It was actually a fairly easy costume, because there was very little to change out. I didn't do the bib of Dorothy's dress, so that cut that out, and the apron and petticoat were almost exactly per directions.

I had a LOT of fun adding the blood onto the apron, too. I was going to use fake blood, but then in the end just went with fabric paint. I think it came out fairly well, although it doesn't look like "real" blood. But that's fine.

I was intending to print out my own custom made cards as part of my weapons, but I couldn't get them to print out correctly, so I just brought one of the 800 decks I have at home. I took the Queen, King and Ace of hearts out to use. I ripped off the head of the Queen and tucked her into my waste-band. The other two were my "weapons" which I brought out for picture ops. For Albacon, I re-used Dan's Michael Myers' knife. I added blood stains and stickers to create a flowered pattern on the blade (like a fancy cake knife).

The necklace is just clay on the black necklace stuff. The boots are my own combat boots (they even already had the blue laces in them) and the striped stockings I've had squirreled away for a while. For Albacon, I also added a Cheshire Cat, using a pattern I found online called "Pointy Kitty". It came out really cool - it kind of creeped Amezri out, hehe. It even had it's ear pierced! :) I also purchased a new necklace - I lost the clay one before Albacon (I've since found it - but really like the new necklace a lot better, even if it's not exact).

The wig was originally about 30" long - amezri actually gave me a hair cut Friday night of the con. She did a great job - it's too bad the hair was a bit too long for Alice - I would have loved to have kept it!

I got tons of compliments on the costume, and was stopped for multiple photo ops, so I was pretty happy.

For Albacon, we were the only ones dressed up (laaaame) so we (Amezri and I) won Hall Awards and were strong-armed into entering their Masquerade. That was also lame, but it was good experience for when I go to a real Masquerade. Heh. We all "won" prizes. I got "Best Weaponry" and "Best Recreation".

Favorite part: Umm…the entire thing? I just loved everything about it!

Least favorite part: My missing weapons - I want to do another photo shoot with amezri using an actual real knife. That would be really cool!

Weaponry issue was resolved (for Albacon, at least) - I have the new knife and we did another photoshoot (although I used the fake one, not the real one) - we actually had more fun doing that during Albacon than going to Albacon!
