When Amy Brown first came on the scene, I loved her artwork. I decided to try making a costume based on one of her fairies, and I chose the Court of the Dragon.

Favorite part: The skirt came out pretty good, I think, and the fabric seemed like it matched the theme, if not the actual artwork. I also loved my arm warmers - they were kid's striped socks that I cut the toe off of and died with tea to make them not be bright white. My hair was awesome, too. My sister-in-law Shelly did a great job with it!

Least favorite part: the corset - I put it on wrong that night, but was too late to change it around. I also didn't like the waist scallop part - it was a last minute thing and it didn't look quite right. Also the wings were not attached properly. I couldn't afford to buy the adult version, and so got the children's black angel wings and I couldn't wear the ribbons. I definitely used this experience when we made the wings for the Black Swan costume (which was the same pattern as this dress).
