For I-CON this year, I wanted a simple costume for Friday - something I could change into quickly and be comfortable (and warm!) enough in to wait in line. So, at first I wanted to do a Punk Lolita version to go with amezri's Lolita, but I just didn't really like the Loli style - there's too much lace for me - even in a punk'd version. SO, I decided to jsut do a punk version and be done with it.

I bought a men's button down white shirt at the Goodwill store. I tried to make my own skirt, but things didn't work out, so I bought a pin-striped black skirt off the clearance rack at Kohl's. Then I added a TON of safety pins (found Hilary Duff Stuff ones - they were copper and silver. Quite cool - and on clearance!), and a bunch of charms that I liked and pinned 'em all over myself and my bag. I also bought the tie from wizardties.com. I added patches from Joann's as well. The bag I did make - it's actually a laptop bag, but I liked the smallness of it and it worked great! OH! And I added gray and black striped knee socks, with my Sketchers buckled shoes.

To top it all off - my dad made me a custom wand! It is awesome! I stained it a nice dark stain, and then aged it up a bit with black paint. Added a few coats of poly and it was almost done. I LOVE purple, so I wanted to add some purple dangly beads to finish it up. I think it turned out fabulous.

Favorite part: my wand - it was so well done, I really wish that it was real! Heh.

Least favorite part: I wish that I was able to my the skirt work - it would have been a little bit more uniform-y.
