This is just a tiny, tiny group of shows that I currently watch and tape like a fiend. There have been many in the past and there probably will be many more in the future. . alias . angel

Sydney Bristow is a college student. She's also a secret agent for an organization known as SD-6. Oh, right, can't forget the fact that she's also a double agent for the CIA. Oh, and did I mention that she may be the woman mentioned in an ancient prophecy? Each episode ends in a high-tension cliffhanger - usually with Sydney in a particularly life-threatening situation. As if that weren't enough, the UST between Sydney and Vaughn is thick enough to cut with a knife. Alias stars Jennifer Garner, Michael Vartan, Victor Garber, and Ron Rifkin. Created by J.J. Abrams, the man who brought the WB Felicity. In fact, Abrams had originally pitched a story where Felicity is recruited by the CIA. The story was rejected by the studio, but the concept was revamped into this kick-ass ABC show. Do not miss an episode. . official site . alias-online . sd-6.com . joey's pizza . double agent .
A vampire with a soul, a former-cheerleader with a conscience, rogue demon hunters, a demon lounge singer, and a girl who was lost in an alternate dimension for five years. Add vampire-turned-human-turned-vampire ex-girlfriend, a baby boy, and stir. Let simmer with festering vengeance and you get season three of the Buffy spin-off. Even without an appearance by the blonde slayer, this season has turned out to be full of surprises. Sure, it's more than halfway through, but we still don't know who the time-jumping demon is or why he has such a beef with Angel. The big mystery for me is why Fred would pick Gunn over Wesley. Angel stars David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards, and Amy Acker. Created by Joss Whedon; being held hostage by the WB. Faith is still in jail and I want her back in the story! . city of angel . flights of angel . an angel's soul .
What can I say about this show? I've watched it since it started in 1997, a cult show that launched the WB. Funny how that gratitude was rewarded, but I digress. Buffy is the tale of a girl who is Chosen to defend the world against the dark and evil forces of the world - vampires, demons, a triumverate of nerds. You would need a very heavy book to detail all the stuff that has gone on in Sunnydale over the last six years, least of which is Buffy's death at the end of Season 5. People have come and gone: Angel and Cordelia left for their own show after season 3. Dawn appeared out of nowhere as Buffy's little sister in season 5. Joyce died in season 5, Giles returned to England early in season 6. Amy finally got de-ratted after 3 seasons as a running gag, the poor girl. One of the things I wish had disappeared are all the Buffy/Riley sex scenes in season 5. If I had to sit through one more of those, I think I would have gagged. They were so unnecessary. We need to see more Willow/Tara sweetness! Buffy the Vampire Slayer stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon, Michelle Trachtenberg, Emma Caulfiled, Amber Benson, and James Marsters. The series was created by Joss Whedon, who had envisioned the 1993 film to be as dark as the series he would eventually create. Movie studio execs thought differently - "teens want camp!" Yeah, right. Also, can whoever's in charge of the the "We hate Marti Noxon" campaign please get over it? This season has had more choice episodes than last season. . official site . much ado about btvs . cross & stake . all things philosophical on btvs .
Three sisters with the will and supernatural backing to help innocents and protect them from the demons of the world. They each have individual powers - Phoebe can levitate and has premonitions, Piper can slow and speed molecules (freezing and blowing things and people up), and Paige has the ability to orb objects from one location to another. Prue, the eldest sister who was telekinetic, was killed in the season 3 finale. In real life, Shannon Doherty got kicked off the set of another Spelling production. She needs to stop audtioning and he needs to stop hiring. This season, the sisters are up against The Source - apparently the leader of all things dark and evil. Things slow mid-season after they have destroyed the Source for good. Or have they? ::ominous music:: Charmed currently stars Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, Brian Krause, Julian McMahon, and Dorian Gregory. Created by Aaron Spelling. Who'd have thought I'd actually like a Spelling show. 90210 does not count. That was like watching a car wreck.. how could you not just take a peek? . official site . the charmed ones .
John Crichton is a human stuck on a living ship with testy Sebaceans, a prissy princess, a Luxon warrior, the nympho Nebari, and cranky muppets. If that weren't fun enough, he's also being hunted by a crazed military commando with a severe skin problem and his twin was just killed. The only way he's ever going to see Earth again is if he figures out a way to create another wormhole to slingshot through. Shows don't kill off main characters, right? Forget about Buffy for a minute because Joss hits the crack a bit too often. Farscape likes to leave the viewer in a constant state of panic and distress. John and Dargo floating in space with little to no oxygen left - season finale. Scorpy!John kills Aeryn and John is left on the operating table without the ability to speak - season finale. Zhaan dies mid-season. The Crichton spilt causes angst to no end, especially when Talyn!John is killed. Oh, the pain! Farscape stars Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Anthony Simcoe, Gigi Edgley, Paul Goddard, Tammy MacIntosh, Lani Tupu, and Jonathan Hardy. Created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced by the Jim Henson Company. . official site . scifi.com site . farscape fantasy . farscape web . farguide .
You know those fairy tale monsters? Dragons, gargoyles, trolls.. well, they're real. And a special branch of the Chicago police department is in charge of apprehending these so-called links. The show follows two dectives - Kate Benson and Nick O'Malley - as they protect the citizens from the links and keep the general public from discovering the truth about the existence of links. Each episode features a "Link of the Week," and is packed with high sarcasm provided by the two leads and supporting character, Carl the Gnome. There's a balance between tones of drama and comedy which makes the show much like a high-comedy X-Files on crack, back in the good ol' days when X-Files was actually good, of course. Special Unit 2 stars Michael Landes, Alexondra Lee, Richard Grant, Danny Woodburn, and Jonathan Togo. Created by Evan Katz, monsters designed by Patrick Tatopoulos. . official site . d/c su-1 . su2 central . microsite .
Based on the Top Cow comic series of the same name, Witchblade follows Detective Sarah Pezzini as she discovers her heritage and connection to the Witchblade. The first season was fantastic and I can't wait for the premiere in June. Last season we were left with the mystery of the White Bulls sort of solved - Dante was busted by Jake and the Feds. Nottingham - who was really a test-tube creation of sorts, possibly related to Sarah - had killed Gabriel. Jake was killed, too. Sarah used the power of the Witchblade to reset time... back to the beginning of season 1 when Danny was still alive. So we are basically left with nothing. And that is what makes this show so interesting. We've met the players and know exactly what their stories are and even what will be. Witchblade stars Yancy Butler, David Chokachi, Anthony Cistaro, Will Yun Lee, Eric Etebari, Nestor Serrano, and John Hensley. Based on the comic created by Michael Turner. . top cow site . tnt site . warner bros. site . karen's site . sounds of witchblade .
With the amount of fiddling going on within the X-verse these days is it any surprise that a new animated series was rolled out? This series is markedly better then the original Fox Kids series that was around in the early 90s. While the stories are far from canon (what is cannon these days?), they are pretty damn interesting! The show takes place in Bayville, with the bulk of the characters attending the local high school. Added bonus: more control over their powers than their elder selves seemed capable of. Jean no longer passes out and cries out for Scott everytime she reads a mind or does something telekinetic. In fact, she's quite the independent woman and Jean and Scott aren't even an item - yet. Rogue is the biggest surprise of all: she seems to have slight control over her ability to absorb energy through her skin. In several episodes she is seen touching another mutant with little to no side effects on the person or herself. The core X-team consists of Professor X, Storm, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Shadowcat, Rogue, Nightcrawler, and Spyke (a character created for the series). Season 2 added the following Gen X mutants: Jubilee, Magma, Mulitple Man, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Iceman, Boom Boom, Berzerker, and Sunspot. The current Brotherhood roster includes Blob, Avalanche, Quicksilver, Toad, and Boom Boom, with Mystique and Magneto making rare appearances. . official site . evolution 2001 . matt's page . fan institute . |
