tangled webs we weave >
Web design is truly an addictive thing and when one is heavily
involved in fandom, the desire to create websites can't be helped.
Below are a handful of websites I have created for fandom interests.
Don't
Kill Spike Club
The club was started by Jamie Marsters (because Joss said she could
be James' wife *snerk*) at the Bronze. I joined and inquired about
a website. A little while later, I took on the reponsibilities,
with asistance from Dayloro. I'm a little embarassed to say that
the site hasn't been updated in over a year.
The Bringers
A fan rights organization founded by Solo84. Back in the day, Solo84
and others helped spread the word about Fox's horrible treatment
of fansites. They organized funds for a full-page ad in Variety
and were interviewed on CNN. After ScoobyGang.com was shut down,
people lost track of things. The Bringers were resurrected by various
members on the yahoogroups list and they needed a new website to
go with the new group. There was a debacle with the original webdesigners
which I won't get to. Anyway, I ended up redesigning it twice -
once with frames and another without frames that was more professional
- with lots of help from my buddy, Oz. Web duties have now been
turned over to Alex and a small group of helpers.
Polyhymnia
It started out as a goofy idea to make a list of all the songs that
remind us fandom freaks of our favorite characters and couples.
Pretty soon, I had a huge listing and a volunteer to help with web
duties. So, with Leyenn providing guidance and an e-mail box, I
setup Polyhymnia. It hasn't been updated in a long time and UKOnline
has changed its hosting policies, so I no longer have FTP access.
I might move it over to my server.
Amantis Vox
Latin for "Lovers of the Voice," a tiny rip off of "Vox
Meretirx" (voice sluts). It's a clique in development for actors
with voices we love. "We" being my brain twin, Sez, and
I. Neither of us have had time to work on it, but will probably
get to it sometime this summer.
